Yes, it is only 3 days until “Trilogy Tuesday”! With the awesome new RotK TV trailers on the airwaves (see one @ theonering.net [quicktime | windows media]), Elijah Wood on SNL tonight, and all the glowing reviews you could ask for over at AICN, I’m getting pumped up for those 12 hours of LotR bliss. Plus, not only will I get to enjoy the marathon with friends like Nick and the McGarrys, but Jed is driving up from Nashville to claim the extra ticket that I ended up with after Rudy couldn’t get off work. Tuesday is going to be awesome. Anyway, back to papers.
Archive for the “Fun” CategoryLike I mentioned before, I will be buying my ticket for the “Lord of the Rings” marathon this Thursday—the first day that tickets will be sold. I happen to have that day off, so I can hit the box office as soon as it opens. I realize that the rest of you may not have that luxury, so if you’d like me to pick up some tickets for you while I’m there braving the hordes of frantic teenage girls who think Orlando Bloom is the hottest guy ever, then I would be willing to do so. (Of course, all those teenage girls ought to be in school, so maybe it will be the frantic parents of the frantic teenage girls who think Orlando Bloom is the hottest guy ever that I will have to brave.) The tickets cost $22 for the whole shebang. Also, the show-times have apparently been adjusted so that FotR is now at 2:30 PM, TT is now at 6:30 PM, and RotK is still at 11:00 PM. If you want me to buy any tickets for you, then just give me a call or send me an email by Wednesday night (midnight at the latest). (BTW, I won’t accept requests through the comment system below.) Since you’re all trustworthy folk, we can settle the bill later. (Go go Gadget Credit Card!) As you probably have heard already, New Line Cinema announced over a month ago that they will be releasing the extended editions of The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers into select theaters during early December in order to prepare the way for theatrical release of The Return of the King on December 17. In addition, on December 16, there will be a one-time-only marathon of the two extended editions followed by the first sreening of RotK. Just announced today was the list of theaters that will be participating in these special events, and the fact that tickets go on sale Thursday, October 9. That’s one week from today! Saint Louis is one of the places lucky enough to be on the list, so I will definitely be going to the marathon on 12/16. I will be ordering my tickets early next Thursday, and I suggest that you do the same if you want to go too—be it with me, or at your own local theater. BTW, the RotK Trailer is available online, and it rocks. |
