1. Who is your mobile phone provider, and how many minutes are in your plan?

Sprint PCS. 300 anytime minutes, unlimited nights & weekends (beginning at 8pm)

2. What program do you primarily use for instant messaging?

Apple iChat, which gives me access to the AIM network and the Yahoo Messenger network via a Jabber transport (which wasn’t the easiest thing to set up). The audio-conferencing is great, and someday when I have a faster computer and an iSight, I’ll be able to do video-conferencing too.

3. Who do you send and receive text messages from most?

Text messaging is for 1053r5.

4. What area code do you live in?

314

5. What year did you first get an e-mail address and do you still use it?

I got my first email address—from AOL—probably somewhere around 1995-1996. I of course don’t have that address anymore, and I only have a vague recollection of what it was. However, my current email address has been around for a number of years now.

1. What if any instrument do you play?

I used to play the clarinet a long time ago. Not as long ago I took guitar lessons. So the answer is, no, I don’t so much “play” an instrument… anymore.

2. If you could choose to play an instrument what would it be?

The clarinet and the wood frog. (Sounding familiar to anyone yet?)

3. If you were in a band, what would your bandís name be?

I’m already in a band: The Mummified Popes. Granted, it’s a non-existent, imaginary band whose only members are me and my friend Kevin who lives in Delaware now.

4. What type of music would your band play?

We’re “the saints of experimental rock”, which means we play whatever the heck we want to play, and no matter how horrible it sounds, we can still call it music.

5. Would you continue to be good for years to come, or would you and your band end up in Branson playing for bus loads of elderly?

Experimental rock is neither good for any length of time, nor good for the elderly. We’d probably get run out of Branson.

Elvenyukiryu (formerly known as Kyrie Asini) has requested that I participate in a meme in which I’m supposed to list and explain 5 reasons why I’m a dork. Here’s my go at it…

1. I’m a librarian. All librarians are dorks. ‘Nuff said.

2. I’m a Mac user who is firmly convinced that the Mac OS is far superior to any other OS in existence.

3. I have a blog. Hosted on a server that I rent. Running a blog engine that I installed myself. With a layout and design of my own creation.

4. My undergrad major was chemistry and my minor was physics.

5. I feel free to sing and dance around my apartment in a similar manner to this. However, I’m not so much of a dork that I would film myself doing so and then post it on the internet.

1. Photo albums or picture frames?

I have a few picture frames, but mostly my pictures stay in digital form.

2. Digital camera, disposable, or point-and-click?

Digital. Canon PowerShot A70.

3. What facial expression (of yours) is usually captured in pictures?

A simple smile.

4. What’s your favorite picture and why?

My favorite picture is of Jed, Megan, Wendy, and I playing Trivial Pursuit as a team. I think Beth took the picture while playing on the opposing team. The picture is nothing spectacular, except that it reminds me of having a good time with good friends.

5. Do you take the picture after you say “1, 2, 3″, or after you say “2″ and right when you say “3″, or do you use another method or not count?

I don’t count. I just take the picture. … Except when taking ID photos at work. In that case I take the picture right on 3.
