When I woke up this morning with a little abdominal pain, I simply brushed it off as some gas. When the pain started getting worse and I became nauseous, I decided it was a good day to take sick day. When the pain became nigh unbearable, I decided it was time to go to the emergency room.
At the ER, a CAT scan revealed that I have a kidney stone. Fortunately, thanks to some sweet meds (oxycodone & prochlorperazine), I’m feeling pretty good now while I wait for the stone to pass in the next 24-48 hours.

Ok I’m leaving now, I swear. I started poking around in your archives and stuff and couldn’t help notice the kidney stone reference. Consider yourself lucky! I had a huge kidney stone in my left kidney in March of 05 and had to go into surgery to get it out. Not the sonic wave thing, but invasive surgery. Then if that wasn’t bad enough I got three more in the same kidney and once again and to have the same surgery in December 05.
I just had a blood test today (they were uric acid stones) and I’m going for a CT scan tomorrow morning for a follow up. They BETTER not find anything! I won’t find out until the 13th. I’m nervous as heck.
Percocet was my drug of choice :) And morphine while in the hospital. I could kiss whoever invented that!
