As you probably have heard already, New Line Cinema announced over a month ago that they will be releasing the extended editions of The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers into select theaters during early December in order to prepare the way for theatrical release of The Return of the King on December 17. In addition, on December 16, there will be a one-time-only marathon of the two extended editions followed by the first sreening of RotK. Just announced today was the list of theaters that will be participating in these special events, and the fact that tickets go on sale Thursday, October 9. That’s one week from today!

Saint Louis is one of the places lucky enough to be on the list, so I will definitely be going to the marathon on 12/16. I will be ordering my tickets early next Thursday, and I suggest that you do the same if you want to go too—be it with me, or at your own local theater.

BTW, the RotK Trailer is available online, and it rocks.
