I just flew in from New York, and boy are my arms tired! Ba Dum Ching!

Seriously though, in the past several days I’ve been doing a lot of travel, and I am quite tuckered out.

This past Friday, I drove down to Nashville to visit my friend Megan, and go to the Cadaver Ball, her med school’s winter formal the following night. Megan also invited two other female friends of hers to go with us, so, from a certain perspective, I had three simultaneous dates to the dance! Of course I should probably mention that only one of them is actually unattached at the moment. In any case, Megan especially wanted me to meet her eligible friend, Amy, who also happens to be a seminarian, because she wanted to fix us up. I guess the “seminarian + seminarian = connection” equation makes sense. Everyone had a good time at the dance. I know I definitely enjoyed it. I’d even say it was better than my high school prom. (I hope you’re not expecting me to say anything more about Megan’s matchmaking, because that’s between me, myself, and I. :oP )

While I was in Nashville, Megan gave me an insider’s tour of the med school, and took me to see the Parthenon–Nashville’s full size replica of the real Parthenon in Greece as it was in its own heyday, complete with gigantic statue of Athena. On Sunday, Amy and I went to Christ Community Church, a popular congregation for those in the Contemporary Christian Music biz, and a PCA church no less. Finally, Sunday afternoon/evening I drove the 332.1 miles back to my apartment in 5 hours with no breaks and a quarter tank of gas to spare (go Neon!).

As if a weekend road trip to Nashville wasn’t enough traveling for one week, I had to go to New York City yesterday for a scholarship interview. I got up bright and early and 4:30 AM, and drove over to the airport for my 7:30 flight to the Big Apple. Upon arriving in NYC, I grabbed a soft pretzel to allay my appetite, and hopped in a cab to shuttle me to my interview. I arrived for my interview with 15 minutes to spare, proving that my flight plan timing was right on (thanks AA). After my interview was done, I hopped on a bus back to LaGuardia where I found some real lunch and read for a couple hours before my 5:45 flight back home. My Big City Adventure day finally ended with me arriving at my apartment around 8:30 PM ready to collapse from exhaustion.
